The Good, the bad, and the ugly...

Today we talked about why "good" people do bad things, the question we'll seek to answer during our short fiction unit. To further your thinking about this question, describe a time when you or someone else you consider "good" did something detrimental, something that was out of character for him or her. Apply the feedback from last week's post as you craft your response.

I'll start...

When I was in high school, my grandmother went to visit her sister in Texas and asked me to housesit for her. I happily agreed, excited to have a parent-free place to hang out with friends. She agreed that I could invite a few friends over, so I did. Unfortunately, a few friends each brought a few friends and their friends brought more friends, and before I knew it, her house was wall-to-wall with people. I knew there were more people there than what my grandma would want, but I felt completely out of control.

When she returned, her neighbors told her how many people had come in and out of her house and she confronted me about her dissapointment in my behavior and her inability to trust me any longer since I had violated our agreement. I felt so ashamed and still, twelve years later, often think about what a terrible thing this was to do.

I know now that I violated my grandma's trust because of peer pressure. I had transferred to my school and wanted people to like me, wanted to be "cool". Not thinking about the consequences of my behavior, I did a bad thing and acted completely out of character.

  1. One time I went to church one day with my family on a Sunday morning. I went with my friends and separated from my parents to hang out with them. They decided to run around the church and act obnoxious. I didn't want to be left alone so i followed what they did.

As we made a disturbance all around the building I saw my uncle, who is one of the ministers, and very close to my parents. He looked at me and I felt so small. he said " David what are you doing?!" and my stomach dropped. I felt the butterflies you get when you go down a roller coaster. All the other kids ran away and left me to get punished.

When I went to Sunday school the time seemed to mock me and last forever saying "You're going to get it!" Class ended and I saw my uncle talking to my parents. So we went home and they didn't say a word about what happened! He didn't tell them! So I knew i went against my parents rules about church. So the next time i talked to my uncle i gave him a hug and he said "I didn't expect you to run around church, which is why I didn't tell your parents." I know I did wrong but now i would not dare do that again.

  2. One day at my old school it was recess and a couple of my friends and me had no idea what to do. As we were sitting there we all thought of how funny it would be to kick basketballs into a large crowd of kids. Because I did'nt have a better idea, I agreed.

As we began to kick the basketballs all of the kids panicked and started screaming and running. We continued to do this for about 15 minutes until the teacher blew the whistle.

As we proceeded to the door to go inside and eat lunched we were stopped by a teacher. After explaining the situation to the teacher, she showed no sympathy for us and we were sent to detention immediatly. I no I should have found something better to do and I really started to regret it when I was sitting in detention, even more bored than when we decided to kick the basketballs.

  3. Because some times people think they are doing something good in there mind but in other people mind it is not a good thing to the people around them. Some time greed over power makes people to do bad things.

  4. In pre-school I was in love with the power puff girls. So every day at lunch I would play "save the world" with my friends. One of the girls I played with would always want to be Blossum (the leader) I thought that I should be the leader because I had red hair just like Blossum. So at play time inside the girl who I used to be friends with got to "Little Foot" the dinosaur first. She was little foot everyday and I hated that so after we put away our toys I was so mad at her ALWAYS being Blossum and ALWAYS playing with Little Foot that I stole little foot and brought him home so no one could play with him but me.
What I did was very selfish and I still feel bad about what I did so long ago. The fact that I stole something so someone else couldn’t have it still makes me feel bad inside.
I’ve never really told anyone that I did that until much later in my life I am ashamed that I had a lack of character then.

  5. This last year my grandma did something very uncharacteristic my grand fathers car was broken and she said she would let him take hers. She took the keys to the car he was going to drive so he had to walk the 3 miles to where he was going with a bad back. My grand mother usually so kind to him and always keeps her promises. when she came home my grand father was tired from walking the 6 miles all together and he wanted to rest by watching golf and she yelled at him to this day I still do not know why she yelled at him.

  6. One time when I was little I was visiting my grandparents with my brother. My grandma told me that it was okay if I cooked some macaroni and cheese as long as I cleaned up my mess. I was so excited about cooking by myself. Once I was done cooking I went and ate and forgot all about cleaning up my mess.

My grandma found out about this later and she was very upset and disappointed. She told me that she expected better of me and that she wouldn’t let me cook again. I was very sad and ashamed of what I did then and it was very out of character for me to disrespect my grandma like that. I still remember it to this day because of the shame that I felt.

  8. When I was a little girl, I absolutely loved candy. I mean what little kid didn't? When I was in about the kindergarten age I almost always went to the grocery store with my dad. It was so exciting to me how there was so much food everywhere, especially candy. I loved going through the list with my dad, and helping him find exactly what was on the big list of groceries. We always took this grocery store trip a couple hours before dinner time.

Now, I had a thing for candy. And while waiting in the checkout line, where racks of candy by the register stood, I would always ask the question,"Daddy, may I please have a pack of candy?" Sometimes, he would reply with a "Sure, but save it for after dinner." But it didn't usually happen, and I already knew the answer. "No, not today honey." So i stopped bothering to even ask the question if I could have a pack of candy any more.

But at the check out line, rows of candy and bubble gum lay right before my big hazel eyes. And the thought came to my mind, I can just take that pack of candy, nobody will notice, I'm little and not as big as these other guys. And so, I stole a pack of candy every now and then. And the thing is, I almost always got caught, and we'd have to take it back to the grocery store. And if I wasn't caught, I couldn't eat all my dinner. But I still stole a pack of bubble gum or whatever, when I really wanted it.

Eventually, I grew out of that wanting phase. But I knew it wasn't right, doesn't matter how little I was or not, it isn't right to steal anything. And taking my innocence for granted wasn't too great of an ide

  10. Over the summer I met my all time best friend. He was nice, funny, and always there to talk to me. Well, he and I got in a huge fight over absolutely nothing, I mean literally nothing. So we didn't talk for about three days. Over that time period we both broke promises we made to each other. We lied, and gave up on each other when we needed each other the most. This was the first time I had ever lied to a friend. He and I have worked our problems out and are gaining trust little by little again from each other. I am still ashamed and working through the consequences, but the most important part is that we are still there for each other.

  11. One time when i was in 7th grade, i went to a basketball game at powell, my friends and i got bored so we decided to walk somewhere.
My parents are very controlling about me walking places. We decided to walk to my friend andrews house from powell which was like 2 miles away. We left powell at 5:30 and by the time we got to andrews house it was dark. my mom called me and asked where i was. i told her where i was and how i got there and she got extremely mad at me for not telling her where i was going. I regret my decision that day and sometimes i just need to make better decisions.

  13. When I was younger we went camping a lot more. And these where often 5 or 6 hours. How often did you have to go to the bathroom when you’re 4ish? At least once every 4 hours or so. So with all my camping and hiking I grew accustom by going outside and by a tree. This was my thought “If no one can see me it’s all right to go” and my parents would often let me go behind trees. So I was at preschool and I was out side. I felt the urge to go but I didn’t want to “hunt” down a teacher and make her walk very slowly to the door to let me back in. But I saw a shed and though “this would be faster and it’s not like it’s not like it’s not good for the grass. So as I was walking up the hill we were called in. I didn’t hear the teacher shouting so I counted to go behind the shed. I was going and a teacher saw me walking away and followed me. And right before I was finishing up she saw me. This was my favorite teacher and I saw the disappointment in my eyes. I’m pretty sure this wouldn’t have been too bad but there was a post office right behind the preschool. The look in her eyes really shook me and she didn’t tell my parents but I never did it again (I did tell them later) What i didnt figure out till later wich really makes me feel bad is that some one saw me and a lot of kids started leaving and soon after i left it had to move and a lot of the teachers were fired.

  14. One time my parents were leaving to go somewherefor the night and i invited a friend over. I told my parents we would just be hanging out at our house. After they left my friend and I went to a party, we lost track of time and ran home, but my parents were alredy home. I had nothing to say, they caught me. It was a really stupid decision, and it took them a while to get over it. I learned just be honest and dont do things behind their backs.

  15. Good people are good people even if they do some bad things because we all do those kinds of things. Like once it was close to dinner time and my mom said,"no more snacks" and I got a snack. I think this was an awful thing to do and I feel very very very bad. It's saying that even good and famous people can do terrible things and screw up. So if you consider yourself a good person, don't take that as a... I'm good so if I do something bad its OK because I think I'm good and so it's not bad.

  16. When I was younger maybe 4 or 5 years old I was playing dress up and Rescue Heroes in the room I shared with my brother who was at the time a year younger than me. We did everything together, we colored together, went to the same preschool in the same class, we were inseparable. So, my brother and I were in my room one rainy afternoon. We were sitting by our closet, when we started to argue over a toy. I was wearing a pink dress up shirt and white high heels. The high heels were maybe 4 inch heels. My brother called me a name, over a toy. So I proceeded to take off my high heel shoe and with the heel part, I hit my brother over the head with it as hard as I could. My brother ended up with a black eye and a big black and blue goose egg on his head for two weeks. It was so out of my nature to be that mean to my own flesh and blood. After seeing how bad I had hurt my brother, the guilt and disappointment of myself and parents overcame me. I was sure my brother was never going to talk to me again. After things settled down my brother and I were close as always and never left each others side. Today, we can laugh about it, but I knew then just like now that it was wrong and out of my nature to do that and I never did it again.

We forgot to tell my friends mom so we both got in trouble for not letting them where we were. We now know to always let our parents know where we are at all times so they don't worry.

  19. One time when I was about six years old I was at Home Depot with my dad getting supplies for a tree house I had wanted to build with him for years (like all the kids at that time). While we were at the check out I saw a cool yellow prism (a mini level) hanging on a rack. I knew my dad wouldn't let me get it because I had no need for it so grabbed it and put it in my pocket.
While we were walking to the car I pulled it out of my pocket and I asked him what it was. He asked me where I got it and I said on the rack in the store (I was six and didn’t remember things well, like why he would let me have it). He asked me if I’d paid for it and I said no, and he turned around and grabbed my arm and pulled me back to the store.
When we got inside he asked where the manager was and if he could speak to him. The assistant said in the back office and pointed it out. My dad walked and I was pulled to the office and he made me apologize for taking the level. When we got home he was very mad and yelled at me but did not punish me because he though I had had enough punishment that day. But there actually was a punishment, to this day there is still not a tree house in our backyard

  20. When I was little I always wanted dessert after dinner. But every night my parents said the same thing "Finish your dinner". So I had a great Idea to just give all of my leftover food that I did not like to my dog. This worked for a while.

But then my parents started to figure out what I was doing. But I was to young to notice that I was finally caught. So at dinner time my parents started to put our dog outside so I had to eat all my food. This taught me never to cheat or lie because you will get caught.

  21. Once a girl I knew invited all her freinds to her birthday party, in front of everyone. So that all the people who hadn't been invited knew they hadn't been invited. This was mean, but I know now that she is a good person.

  22. When I was younger maybe about 4, we were at my house and my sister and I were helping my mom do the laundry. After all of the clothes had been emptied out of the laundry basket, my sister decided to climb into it. The basket unluckily happened to be placed directly in front of the stairs to our basement. While my sister was still in the basket, I pushed it down the stairs. My sister, who was only about 6, hit her head on the wall. When she started crying, I realized that I had done something wrong, and i got in trouble. I felt really bad, and even to this day my sister still reminds me of when I did this. I still feel bad about it and I acted out of my character.

  23. When I was a little girl I used to watch a lot of fairytales, I assumed that the stories were true. I became so in love with them that I started telling stories of my own. It turns out so called "stories" were lies. So one day I accidently let my bird Tweety out of its cage, instead of telling the truth I told a "story" about how I saw my brother let it out. Well my mom believed me even though my brother denied it. It’s been ten years and I still haven’t told the truth, oops. (:

  25. Two of my best are my neighbors. There names are Anna and Maddy. I invited them over one night but Maddy was babysitting and she wasn't quite sure when she'd be back so Anna came over. Maddy was gone before I called so she wasn't aware of any of this. My mom said it was fine if JUST Anna came over. So Anna and I hung out until around 11:45 when Maddy called and said she was on her way home. That's when Anna told her that we were hanging out and Maddy decided that she wanted to come over too. We felt bad about leaving her out but she was afraid of walking to my house alone at night because we have a lot of coyotes (we were chased by one a few months earlier) and by the time she got home it would be way past local curfew. So when Maddy calls us again and tells us that she's ready, Anna and I sneak out and go get her.
The next morning, well afternoon my mom comes to wake Anna and I up when she realizes Maddy's here. She freaks out for a minute then gains her cool again. They left shortly after. Once they're gone I get lectured by my mom about how irresponsible it was to sneak out, bring people over in the middle of the night, and leave the door unlocked while we snuck out. I'm not doing that again.

  26. Over the summer my cousin Katie who is a year older than me stayed with my family and I for a week while her parents were out of town. Katie had always been like an older sister to me, and I looked up to her in everyway. She was more than a good person to me. When she was staying with my family she got invited to see a midnight showing of a movie with some of her friends. Katie asked my mom if she could go, but my mom wasn't really sure if Katie's mom would approve. So when my mom asked Katie's mom if she could go she was very much against the idea. Katie seemed upset at first, but then it was as though she forgot about the movie all together. That night I couldn't sleep and went into Katie’s room to see if she was still awake, but when I entered the room Katie was nowhere to be found. I looked around the house awhile and realized she was gone. I became very worried and awoke my parents who immediately called Katie’s cell phone and found out she had snuck out of the house to go see the movie with her friends. After Katie got home my worriment had subsided and I realized that I was disappointed with her. She could of just seen the movie tomorrow with her friends, but instead she went against her own and my parents will. Although, Katie was very sorry she lied and violated are trust, which I still think about from time to time.

  27. When I was about 7 or 8, my cousins and I stayed the night at my grandparents house. While we were over there they let us ride our bikes around in the driveway and barely in the street. They were watching us when my cousin says "lets go around the block real quick, before they get back." So I agreed because I always wanted to see what there neighborhood looked liked. So we went around as fast as we could, but when we got back our grandparents were out there. When we pulled up our grandpa was yelling and our grandma was agreeing with everything he said. I felt really bad because I knew I let them down and my parents down when they told them.

  28. My godparent's son got a tattoo. Now, this wouldn't be a huge dilema if his parents hadn't asked him not to get one, primarily for his health. They said if he wanted one, he should go to a tattoo parlor that was concerned with cleanliness. The place that he went for his tattoo was not a great place to get a tattoo and it was definatly a place his parents would have approved of.

But then, he proceeded to try and hide his newly aquired tattoo from his parent for as long as he could. His tatto was on his back so it wasn't as hard as trying to hide it on his arm or something obvious like that. So time passed and finally, his parents soon discovered the existance of his tattoo. Needless to say, they weren't pleased and this new feature strained their relationship very much. Their son wasn't characterized by getting a tattoo and even so, his character would have had him check with his parents first. So this event was very out of character for my godparent's son.

  29. A few years ago a very close friend of mine came to visit me from out of state and we had made plans to go swimming together the day after she flew in.I was so excited to see her that i got a bit upset when she wanted me to invite another close friend of ours. She had asked me to call and invite her since she had forgotten the number.Well I didn't want to have our other friend come because I hadn't seen my out of state friend in so long and I wanted to be the only one with her that day.So i didn't make the call. And when we had met up to go swimming she had asked if I had called and invited our other friend.i felt ashamed and didn't want her to know what I did so I lied and said I had called numerous times and that she never answered. So instead of three of us there was just two.It was one of the best days I had spent in a long time with my long distance friend but I felt so guilty that I hadn't allowed our other friend to enjoy that special time and deprived them both of each others company. Now that I look back on it I realize how selfish and out of character that was of me .I still wish i had invited her too and that I could tell them both what I did, but I still feel awful and ashamed.

  30. Being a good person veries on each persons opinion. What some people might say is a bad deed, others might think what they are doing is alright in their mind. Back in 8th grade my parents would always get mad at me for not doing chores right when they asked me to. I would always want to relax by watching some T.V. or getting on facebook before completing my chores. I always ended up getting them done before the night was over with no problems. I still see no problem with doing thing the way my system works, even though i have quit my habit only because i got tired of continually being interigeted by my parents to see if I have done them yet.

  31. I considered Tiger Woods a very good person, but he just had a problem and cheated on his wife. This was a very sad moment for all of us and now most people think he is a bad person. Everyone makes a mistake in their life even if it's small or a big mistake. This was very out of character for him especially with how famous he was. I really hope things get back to normal for Tiger.

  32. I remember when i was in 4th or 5th grade my brother and I were walking home one day (and we walk through a cemetery a few hundred feet behind my house). There was a sprinkler going on in a little strip of grass between 2 roads leading in. It was a hot day and we decided to run through it, we were young and couldn't help laughing and yelling. We didn't realize their was a funeral precession going on nearby. We walked on and this girl followed us and pulled up in a black Mercedes near us, and screamed at us how we ruined her dads funeral. I have never felt more disappointed at myself ever. I think good people do bad things because they are curious or don't think it is a bad thing at the time. When that happened to me and my brother we didn't think we were disturbing anyone but we figured out that we actually did.

  34. One time, I became very good friends with this girl. She was very nice and she got good grades. I considered her as a “good person.” That’s why I was in complete shock when I found out she did some awful things behind our backs. The rest of her friends were in completely astonished as well. We were surprised that such a good and nice person could be filled with such hatred. It took some time, but I got over it eventually. Sometimes, it takes forgiveness when good people do bad things. But some of the other people she hurt may never forgive what she did.

I think every good person doesn’t have a clean slate. But hey, we are all humans and nobody is perfect. Sometimes people do bad things subconsciously. For example: judging people or say something behind their backs. The truly good people would realize what they are doing wrong and control themselves. The part where you could be considered as a “bad person” is when that person does bad things on purpose constantly. There is a point where they could cross the line. Which in different cases, my friend did cross a line.

One girl brought in one of theose rocks that when broken open it has crystles in the middle. The cristles inside were blue. And at the time it was my favorite color. So I thought it was a good idea to "borrow" the rock. Afer the rock went missing the teacher disided to look though all the students backpacks durning lunch in hope of finding the girls rock. When she found it placed in mine she confronted me. I told her the first thing that came to mind...
"well you see I found it in the hall and I picked it up and put it in my bag so it wouldn't get lost so I coud give it back to so an so later." And for some odd reason my teacher didn't believe me! I know i know shocking right. So after that I had to come in for lunch for 2 weeks=(

Well I told my cousin to call 911 because we thought the phone didn’t work and I was going to be more realistic. Well we were wrong we called the police and as soon as they picked up we hung up the phone and hid for real. A few seconds later the phone was ringing and my grandma picked it up. My Grandpa was furious. They came upstairs and yelled at us until we cried. My cousin said she didn’t know what it was and I said I didn’t think the phone worked. We never ended up playing that game again.
It was probably the thing I regret most.

My brother and his friend were jumping off the diving board catching a football that I was throughing to them. My little brother jumped of the diving board funny and these 10th graders started giggling and I yelled across the pool. "Hey what's so funny." They looked at eachothere funny and said. "Nothing." I replide. "Ya that's what I thought." A couple of minutes late I see one of the 10th grader mimiking my little brothers jump. After I saw that I ran over there and said. "You jerks better get out of here before I nock the jack off of you." I used a little more colorful vocaulary than that. And they walked out, but my little brother always says. 38. One beautiful summer night about 5 years ago my friend Sandra and I decided to take her dogs for a walk, my parents said I could go but when I get home I have to let myself in because they will be in their room watching T.V. Thinking I was cool I went and about 20 minutes later I show up at my house and I walk up to the garage keypad to have the door open. I remember the code and say goodbye to Sandra as she walks across the street to her house. As I walk inside the house very tired I forget to shut the garage door, but I didn't realize it. I go to bed that night and wake up in the morning to a very mad dad. It turns out over night a group of people went inside our garage and stole all the beer and soda and left all the bottles and trash. My dad was not happy about this but on the good side no bike or car got stolen, I still had to do chores to pay off every penny of the stolen beer and soda. To this day I am very paranoid about shutting garage doors, and I always check twice to make sure that the door shuts all the way and just to make sure it is shut, I will never leave a garage door open again.

  40. About a year ago, my friend Avery and I were riding bikes to the library and we were talking about various things. I was not paying attention to my surroundings so I cut Avery off and his front bike tire hit my back bike tire which caused him to fall and wreck off onto the side of the road.
I managed to break my fall, but Avery however had gotten several minor cuts on his arms and legs and his shoe laces were tangled around the pedals. I felt really guilty and was mad at myself for hurting my friend like that, even if it was an accident it still was wrong. I also discovered when Avery was cleaning his cuts off in the bathroom, that I had also due to the wreck put a hole in his Vans (shoes) which made me feel even worse, but at least he wasn't injured to severally and his foot was ok so that was also a relief. So he forgave me and now he makes me always ride in the front of him to prevent the same accident from occurring again. So overall that was one of my more severe mistakes, but I learned from it and I will make sure that it never happens again.

  41. One time when I was younger my friends and I were trick or treating for the first time without parents. There is one house in our neighborhood that we weren't allowed to go to because this was the house were the owners would try and scare the the neighborhood kids when they went to go ring the doorbell.Every year they were known for doing something different each year.My friends and I decided it wouldn't harm us to go see why it was so scary. When we were walking up the steps to go and rig the door bell they grabbed our legs and jumped out the bushes.

I think the reason why we did this bad thing and didn't obey our parents was because we tried to show each other that we weren't afraid of anything. We thought just because we were on our own we can do whatever we wanted to.If we had listen to our conscience and kept being the good people we always were there would have been this bad thing hovering over us cause we were good people.Of course our parents found out and we had to face the consequences.

  42. Everybody does bad things, that still doesn't make them a bad person. One night a long time ago, my friend and I smashed a few mailboxes with a night stick driving around a neighborhood. We new even though we had an adult with us, that we were not doing the right thing. My friends mom drove down to one of the mailboxes so we could "see our work" and there was the 5-0. We could do nothing but stop and wait to see how much trouble we would be in. My friend and I had to replace the mailboxes with our own money and put them back up. My moms friend however had to spend the night in jail. My parents were angry to say the least.

So we snuck into our classroom and grabbed some. Little did we know a supervisor of students was wandering the halls looking out for kids that were up to no good, like us. We were then stripped of our stolen goods and sent to the deans office. Both of us had to make calls home to our parrents and explain what happened. We didn't get punnished though, maybe because our teacher just understood......... or didnt really care that much. The world may never know!

  44. I think that people do bad things because they feel comfortable with what they are doing, find it fun, of just don't realize how bad what they are doing could actually be.

  45. Well it was the time when I thought I had found the man that would like me no matter what happened to the world. Silly right? Well for me it was not just that he was wonderfully handsome but he was also an extremely good person. He helped with the kids at our church and he was involved with special needs programs that were just dyeing for help. He was amazingly good or so I thought. I began to see a change in his personality, his actions became selfish and did not make since. Unable to just sit there and watch him wither away from me, I decided to talk to him.

We talked for a whole hour, as I tried to muster the courage to tell what I had been seeing in him. When I finally said something about it, this look of disgusts came to his face, as if I had read his personal journal or something. The look could have killed me that day. It was not until we were walking to a class that he said to me “I don't like stepping on toes and having to apologize for it." Not what I expected from him at all, it showed me that he was a good person that was unable to see how much of a jerk he was.

  46. I believe that there is no definition of a good person. A good person is just an idea that we have created in our minds to justify why we like or hang out with someone. I might think that my best friend is sweet, caring, and thoughtful, when someone else might think she is rude and mean. Good is just an opinion, and "good" could never exist without "bad". People never do "bad" things, but sometime we do stupid things.
I have known my neighbor, Amy, my whole life. She babysat me when I was little and was always there for me when I needed help. When Amy was a Senior in high school, she got pregnant. That was a mistake that happens to thousands of teenage girls. Some drop out of school, but some don’t want to give up on themselves. Even though Amy did a stupid thing, she graduated high school, got a job, and started college at ACC for the second semester of school.
Since then she has continued making mistakes. She married the baby's father and lived in her parents basement, and 6 months later he left her. Through all of these hard times, Amy still kept her job and has been promoted to manager, she has moved out of her parents house, and is raising a beautiful baby girl all by herself. Even though Amy has done some "bad" things, I would never call her a “bad person”.

  47. One time My friends and I were messing around with a beebee gun and shot a car window. The window shattered and luckily no one was hurt. We ended up paying for all the damage. We still regret it. It was very out of character for all of us

  48. I think everyone has their own definition of a good person, and everyone's minds are different about the subject. And people can be easily convinced that someone is a good person, when their really not. And it's easy to make mistakes. One time me and my friends decided to go ding dong ditching because we thought it would be fun and cause no harm. We ended up ringing the door bell of a house that was being searched by cops. So we ended up getting in a lot of trouble with the cops. I regret it to this day, but I still don't think it makes me, or any of my friends bad people.

  49. One day I remember my friends mom telling me a story about my friend who was an a+ student and had never ha any problems with peere pressure until one day last winter she was walking to school when her mom had left for work and she knew that her mom did not drink the liquor that she had, so she took some of her friends to her house and started drinking hard liquor like tequila etc. and they were walking down the street when the oldest had passed out with a blood alcohol of 1.8 and another girl had a blood alcohol level of .9 both of witch were over the legal limit for adults. My friend was expelled for a year. She has not gained much trust from any one close to her lately, but she has been studying hard to get back touring an a student, she had betraye everybodys trust by giving into pere pressure and letting her career slip away from what it could have become, but I do not beleave that one mistake in somones life can make them a bad person

  50. Last year, I was babysitting some kids. Their parents made it easy on me, only setting a few ground rules, including not letting the kids jump on the tramp. The kids ended up begging and crying to get on, so I thought, "what the heck? give it a shot!" So I did. Nothing seemed wrong at first until i accidentally double bounced one of the kids and they went out of control. He landed with a thud on the ground, and ended up with a sprained ankle. In the end, I had to call their parents and end their date early because we were jumping on the trampoline and one of the kids got hurt.

  51. So One Time I went to soccer practice one day and me and my goof friend were just messing around and then our couch had called us in to huddle up before we started. He would but then for some reason my friend had kicked my ball way down this spiky hill, and so I thought to myself alright "it's just a joke." So after we finished i ran down this HUGE hill and brought my ball back up and started with he drills that they had started while I was gone. But right once i looked away my friend kicked it down the hill again. And I was fairly wmad at this point cause i was already tired from the run down before. Right once I was about to run down the hill to grab my ball, once more. My couch yelled at me. "Alex Come Here", he had thought that i had hit the ball down there. So he mad me do sprints for a while. This was so unfair of my couch that he made me do it and it was really my friend.

  52. One time me and a buddy of mine were going to a class before church started. And we normally would go and sit there for an hour until it was over and then we went to church. Well today we didn't want to go to the class so when our parents left we ran out of the building and a crossed the street to church. We stayed here for that hour but when it was getting close to the time we were going to get picked up we hurried back before it was let out so no one would ever now what we did.

  54. I used to consider my older firend as a good person then she went off and did some bad things. to me for her being so good that her doing thouse acts of selfishness was a bad thing and she didnt need to do that. By her stealing thouse iteams from the store and creatinga huge problem between us was a bad thing. Why she did these things i was unaware why but to mae that made her abad person to me and i didnt like that bout her. so thats my perspective on why good people do bad things.

  56. One time my friend and I had track practice, and since we didn't want to go, we ditched and went to Burger King. I think no matter how "good" we are, we all do bad thigs at one point or another. It's just the human in us.

  57. when i was younger i remeber i loved to play on the slide. It was my favorite thing in the entire playgorund. I mean who doesnt love crawling up, failing and sliding back down but this time you would slide back down backwards. Well one day it was recess so i ran outside to my slide and somebody was already on it! I couldn't believe my eyes so i ran over to her and slapped her and said "Hey this is my slide! get off of it!" i then shoved her over the edge of the slide. The girls started bawling but i just went on playing on my slide. When the teacher came over she said she had saw the whole thing and sent me to the pricipals office. I was five ior six so I didnt know any better. They gave me a refferal annd made me write a letter of apolgy to the girl. The best Part is were best friends today...... even after i broke her arm (:

  58. I think good people do bad things because no one is perfect. People get tempted to do bad things because of peer pressure and envy. One person I know, was my best friend, made a bad decision by stealing. Some kids just want attention so they do something that is abnormal or different than what they usually do. My friends and I don't want to be in a bad situation so we don't hang out with him anymore. Now he is just another kid at my high school. He started hanging out with the "Cool Kids" and didn't really pay attention to his other friends. He has fallen out of favor with the kids that were always nice to him. Every day he and I and some other kids would try to go somewhere but not anymore, it's almost like we try to avoid each other. It's unfortunate that people make poor decisions and do bad things.

  59. About 4 or 5 years ago, I lied to my mom. I was really tired and got right into bed. My mom asked me if I brushed my teeth and I said yes although I know I didn't. Even with something that small, I felt too guilty and told my mom I was lying. She got very mad at me. Not because I didn't brush my teeth but because I lied to her. This shows that you should always be honest because when you lie, you live with guilt, lying never gets you anywhere, and you'll always eventually get caught.
